Fossil Shrimp Carpopenaeus sp. Cretaceous Lebanon

This easily recognizable fossil shrimp is a light brown color that contrasts well against the sedimentary block of a lighter-hued tan matrix. The preserved crustacean is relatively large and features long and curving antennae protruding from its curled body. Fossils from Lebanon typically display very minimal restoration, and this piece is no exception.
