Maison Avenir: Built on Purpose, Led by People Who Get It.
Maison Avenir wasn’t born out of a business plan. It was born out of a feeling — the quiet certainty that something meaningful could be built in Greenville, South Carolina. A space where style had depth, where quality mattered, and where the people who wear the clothes, not the ones who sell them, are the true champions of the story.
At the heart of it is Jennifer Houde, a woman whose path to fashion was anything but typical.
From Microbiology to Modern Fashion
Jennifer graduated from Clemson University with a degree in microbiology, a discipline defined by curiosity and close observation; skills she now applies in a very different field.
For over two decades, she has quietly built a respected career as a fashion buyer with a reputation for discovering timeless, thoughtful pieces long before they hit the mainstream. Jennifer was honored by Elle Magazine as one of the Top 50 Buyers in the U.S., a nod to her ability to consistently identify collections with soul, structure, and staying power.
Her showroom visits in New York City are not about trends, they’re about finding the pieces that will last in a woman’s wardrobe. Jennifer has always had a talent for spotting brands that balance elevated design with quality and realism, and new names that deserve attention.
But for Jennifer, success was never the destination. Connection was.
The Why Behind Maison Avenir
Jennifer and her husband, Bob Houde, didn’t open Maison Avenir just to build a boutique, they opened it to build community.
After a long and meaningful career in the healthcare industry, Bob stepped away from his role to help bring their long-held vision to life. Together, they combined her deep expertise in fashion with his strategic mindset and heart for people to launch Maison Avenir in 2024.
They believed Greenville deserved something that felt both international and deeply local, a place where the art of dressing was personal, unpretentious, and full of joy.
"Clothing should feel like a natural extension of who you are." - Jennifer Houde
That ethos runs through everything at Maison Avenir. Here, the spotlight isn’t on Jennifer or Bob. It’s on the customer, the confident woman building a business, raising a family, showing up fully in her own life. She is the brand.
A Boutique With a Point of View — And a Heart
Today, Maison Avenir is becoming a quiet but influential part of Greenville’s evolving style scene. From private styling appointments to thoughtful events, the boutique reflects Jennifer and Bob’s shared belief that luxury is about balance, thoughtful pieces, beautifully made, that you’ll wear for years.
And coming in Fall 2025, that philosophy will expand:
Maison Avenir Homme, a curated space for men, hand-selected by Bob, will open its doors with a focus on elevated, refined menswear and lifestyle pieces that echo the quality and intention Maison Avenir is known for.
In a world of trend cycles and noise, Maison Avenir offers something rare: clarity. A tightly edited mix of clothing, accessories, and lifestyle pieces with long-term value, selected not to impress, but to empower.
